Get the most bang for your buck. Broad questions get broad answers. Specific questions get specific answers.

Note: a way to get a lot of bang for your buck is to start with a broad question to get general structure and then follow up with a specific question on that structure. ie "What's the smartest way to buy a phone? / Where canI get the type of phone you mentioned for less than my budget of $400?
